The hospital disposable pump sets are designed to be used by a single user. Using two pump sets for double pumping enables mother to express more milk with a higher energy content¹. Medela offers a sterile single-use pump set and a ready-to-use one-day pumps set in three different breast shield sizes (M: 24 mm, L: 27 mm and XL: 30 mm) for a correct fit to optimise pumping results. All parts of the pump set that come into contact with breast milk are BPA and phthalate free. 

Ready-to-use one-day pump set 
The ready-to-use one-day pump set is a hygienically safe² and cost-effective option from Medela to be used up to eight times within 24 hours by a single user. The pump set can be used straight out of the packaging, without requiring cleaning prior to first use. It is manufactured at 150°C, which means that potential pathogens are destroyed directly during production. Their production and packaging take place in a clean room under laminar flow. Samples from each batch are microbiologically tested before released.  

After the first use the pump set can be cleaned by the mums themselves.
